Generally, a bus or buss is a point at which which multiple circuits converge and are electrically common. This can be done through a buss bar intended solely for that purpose (as below) or any point in a system where power is distributed among multiple paths.

A buss bar is a strip or bar of copper. brass, or aluminum that conducts electricity within a switchboard, distribution panel, substations, battery bank, or other electrical apparatus. Its main purpose is to conduct electricity, not to function as a structural member.
