Use a measuring cylinder with water in it. Note down the volume of water in the cylinder, then add the solid. Note down the new volume and subtract the first value from the second to get the volume of the solid.

What is the formula for finding the volume of solids?

What is the formula in finding the volume of irregular solid?

There is no formula for finding the volume of an irregular solid. One method is water displacement which works as follows: Fill a graduated container with water and read off the volume of water. Then you submerge the irregular shaped solid in the water and measure the volume inside the container again. The difference between the two levels is the volume of the solid. This clearly cannot work for solids that are soluble in water. Other fluids may have to be used in such cases. Also, it will not work if the solid floats on water, but in that case you can submerge it using additional weights (whose volume you have measured).

How many solids have 5 faces?

The only regular 3D shapes I can think of with 5 faces are the square-based pyramid and the triangular prism (which is shaped like a Toblerone bar).

What is the method used to determine the mass of an irregular object?

The word mass is used to tell how much matter there is in something. Matter is anything you can touch physically. An electronic scale or triple beam balance can be used to tell the mass of an object. Volume is a is a measure of how much space an object occupies. When measuring the volume of a liquid, a graduated cylinder can be used.Measurement is the collection of quantitative data (numbers). Measurements are not only numbers. They must always contain a unit of measurement. In the Metric System, the gram (g) is the basis unit of measurement for mass. The basis unit of measurement for the volume of liquids is the milliliter (ml). The density of an object can be determined by dividing the mass by the volume (D = M/V). From a density calculation, we may tell whether a substance will float or sink in another liquid. A less dense substance will float on one that is denser. An example is oil floating on water. Oil is less dense than the water. For solids that have an irregular shape, the displacement method must be used to determine their volume. When using the displacement method, you must first measure the starting volume of the liquid. Then add the object and record the change in volume. This gives the volume of the irregularly-shaped object.HypothesisThe density of objects can be determined by a method known as water displacement.MaterialsTriple beam or electronic balance100 ml graduated cylinder3 irregularly shaped objectscalculatorpencilMethodsObtain 3 irregularly shaped objects that will sink in water.Estimate the mass & volume of each object. Record this on table 1.Use a triple beam balance or electronic scale to determine the mass in grams of each object. Record this on table 1.Fill a graduated cylinder halfway with tapwater.Measure & record the volume of the water in the graduated cylinder. READ THE MENISCUS!Place one of the objects into the graduated cylinder, and measure and record the new volume.Subtract the initial volume from the final volume. The difference is the volume of the object.Record the difference in data table 1.Repeat steps 4 - 8 for the other three objects. To determine the density of each object, divide the actual mass of each object by its volume (determined by water displacement).Record the densities in data table 1.

Measuring the volume of liquids through eureka can method?

I don't see why measuring the volume of liquids using the Eureka can method. It is an indirect measure -- you displace water or some other fluid to measure a liquid? A direct tool, such as measuring beakers or cylinders with markings, is inexpensive and can measure volume adequately. Eureka cans are more for measuring the volume of solids, especially irregularly-shaped ones. ===================================

A technique used to calculate the volume of irregularly shaped solids?

To calculate the volume of an irregularly shaped object, a good idea would be to get a bucket full of water and submerge that object into the bucket. Then measure the amount of water that runs over and that should be the volume of your object. For example if you take a sealed bottle of bottle stick it in a bucket filled with water, then let it's volume filll the space and displace the water. The water that is displaced or the water that runs out is the volume of your irregular shape. Get it?
