first fit will search the free memory's fragments until it finds a fragment that big enough for the allocation. the main problem with first fit is heavy memory fragmentation near the start of the list. next fit developed to solve this issue. just like first fit, just we starting to search for the fragments from the last point we stopped. so, for the first time, it just like first fit but generally from the second time it will start to search from the last position it stopped before.
