1/3 of 23/4 = 1/3 of 11/4 = 11/12
Since a cup is eight ounces, a third would be 3/8 of that or two and three-quarters, roughly.
if you're referring to 3 quarters of 1 third, then that would be (3/4) x (1/3) = 1/4 = one quarter if you're referring to 3 quarters PLUS 1 third, that would be 13/12 (one, and one twelfth)
7/12 2 and one third = 7 thirds = 7/3 = 28/12 1 and 3 quarters = 7 quarters = 7/4 = 21/12 Taking one from the other gives 7/12
One quarter and a half
There are approximately 1.33 quarters in one third. This is calculated by dividing one third (1/3) by a quarter (1/4), which results in (1/3) ÷ (1/4) = (1/3) × (4/1) = 4/3, or 1.33 when expressed as a decimal.
One third of three-quarters of a hundred is twenty five. 3/4 of 100 = 75 1/3 of 75 = 25
1: Two point two five. 2: Two and a quarter. 3: Two and two-eigths. 4: Two plus a half of a half. 5: Two and one third of three quarters.
Adding fractions to whole numbers: You know that they say that you can't add apples to oranges? Same principle. If you want to add one third to two, you need to convert the two to thirds. In other words, think of a pie; one whole pie is two halves or three thirds or four quarters. Therefore, two is really two three-thirds which is six thirds. That can now be added to one third. The total of adding one third to two is seven thirds. Try another way: one dollar is four quarters. How many quarters would you have if I gave you two more quarters? Six quarters or $1.50. I hope this answers your question. GreenWasabe@gmail.com
Convert the mixed number to an improper fraction, multiply the two fractions and convert any resulting improper fraction back to a proper fraction: 1 3/4 = (1×4+3)/4 = 7/4 → 1/3 × 1 3/4 = 1/3 × 7/4 = (1×7)/(3×4) = 7/12. One third of one and three quarter inches is seven twelfths of an inch.
3
1/3 plus 2/3 plus 3/3 = two
2 1/3 + 2 1/3 = 4 2/3
