(7/2) X (1/2) = 7/4 or 1.75

To multiply fractions - simply multiply the two numerators (top numbers) together and the two denominators (bottom numbers) together.

So 7 X 1 = 7 and 2 X 2 = 4

Therefore the answer is 7/4

Another example:

(4/5) X (3/4) = (4 X 3) / (5 X 4) = 12/20 (which can be simplified to 3/5)
