The greatest common factor (GCF) of 8, 3 and 5, is 1:

8 = 1 x 2 x 2 x 2

3 = 1 x 3

5 = 1 x 5

Note: 1 is not generally considered a Prime number. However, for the purpose of finding the GCF, if a set of numbers have no prime factors in common, the GCF is said to be 1. That is the case with the example above.
