Simple application of Pythagoras
Congruent side becomes the hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle with a known side of 5 (half the base). Doing the math we get the following:
H2 = O2 + A2
92 = O2 + 52
rearranging we get
O2 = 92 - 52
O2 = 81 - 25
O2 = 56
therefore
O = √56
which is approximately
7.48 to decimal places
No because only 2 of its 3 sides are congruent in an isosceles triangle but all 3 sides of an equilateral triangle are congruent.
An isosceles triangle has two congruent sides.
Scalene Triangle- a triangle with no congruent sides Isosceles Triangle- a triangle with two congruent sides Equilateral Triangle- a triangle with three congruent sides
An isosceles triangle has exactly two sides which are equal. (The word congruent usually applies to triangles, not sides.)
An isosceles triangle
No because only 2 of its 3 sides are congruent in an isosceles triangle but all 3 sides of an equilateral triangle are congruent.
In an isosceles triangle 2 sides are congruent and 2 angles are congruent. In an equilateral triangle all 3 sides are congruent and all 3 angles are congruent also.
An isosceles triangle has two congruent sides.
The isosceles triangle theorem states that if two sides of a triangle are congruent, then the angles opposite those sides are congruent.
The Isosceles Triangle Theorem:If two sides of a triangle are congruent, then the angles opposite the sides are congruent.The Converse of Isosceles Triangle Theorem:If two angles of a triangle are congruent, then the sides opposite those angles are congruent.

Isosceles Triangle Isosceles TriangleIsosceles triangles have at least 2 congruent sides, and equilateral triangles have all 3 sides equal. A scalene triangle has no congruent sides or angles. All triangles have 180 degrees total.An equilateral triangle has three congruent sides and an isosceles triangle has two congruent sides.
