The answer is any pair of numbers, just as long as the 'y'-number is
5 more than double the 'x'-number. There are an infinite number of them.
You miight think that if there are that many, then it's pretty easy to stumble across
a pair of numbers that's an answer. Unfortunately, there's a bigger infinity of pairs
of numbers that are not answers.
Because all the terms have been divided by -1
2x+y=1
Solve for y.2x+y=5*subtract 2x from both sides*2x+y-2x=5-2xy=-2x+5 / y=5-2x
x= (-1/2)y-2.5
y = -2x+5 Slope: -2 Intercept: 5
2x+x-5 = 10 2x+x = 10+5 3x = 15 x = 5 and y = 0
(Y = -2x plus or minus any number) is parallel to (Y = -2x + 5) .
The slope is -2x and the y intercept is 5 Note that it will be a negative slope.
y = 2x+10 Just change the y intercept.
x=5 y=-3
x=1 y=7
y = 2x + 5At the y-intercept, x=0.y = 0 + 5y = 5
