Can't tell unless you know the angle between these 2 sides. If it's a right angle (90 degrees) then it's a "3,4,5" triangle in this case a 6, 8, 10

Pythagoras says that the hypotenuse squared = the sum of the squares of the other two sides. 62=36 82 = 64, 36+64=100 and sqrt 100 = 10 so the hypotenuse is 10

Area of a 6,8,10 right angled triangle is 1/2 base times height

base = 6 and height = 8 (so didn't really need to know the hypotenuse length but never mind)

1/2*6*8 = 24 square units (you didn't say what units the 6 and 8 are - inches, cm, miles...)
