The kelvin scale has exactly the same degrees as the centigrade scale HOWEVER the position of zero on the kelvin scale is set at -273.15 on the centrigrade scale.
So if water freezes at 0'C it freezes at 273.15 K
and if water boils at 100'C it boils at 373.15'K
The Kelvin scale was made so that equations such as the ideal gas law could be expressed both simply and elequently.
PV=nRT
without the need of fudge factors
PV=nR(T+273.15)
As a small addition, the Kelvin scale is based on absolute zero. Zero Kelvin is the absence of all heat and no colder temperature is theoretically possible.
The Kelvin scale was developed by William Thomson - a.k.a. Lord Kelvin - and the markings on the scale are not called degrees, but are simply called kelvins.
(0o Celsius is equal to 273.15o Kelvin)
Lord Kelvin based the Kelvin scale as zero degrees K being cessation of all molecular motion. We now know that reaching absolute zero may never bee accomplished, in our time (2007) we have apparatus that can reach within a few tenths of a degree of zero K.
The Kelvin (abbreviated K) scale measures temperature just like Celsius or Fahrenheit.
0 K is the lowest possible temperature on the Kelvin scale, where everything stops moving. It's absolute zero, and theory says if the temperature of something was at that temperature, the small molecules in that something wouldn't move at all.
Besides that, the Kelvin scale and Celsius scale work well together. To convert kelvin to Celcius, simply subtract 273.14. (I.E. 273.14K = 0 deg. C.)
The Kelvin scale is a temperature scale that sets its zero point to absolute zero. This is different from the Celsius scale where zero is the freezing point of water which is measured to be about 273.15 kelvin.
-- The degrees are the same size as Celsius degrees, i.e. 100 of um between ice and boiling water.
-- Kelvin zero is at absolute zero . . . 273.15 degrees lower than Celsius zero.
-- It's named for Lord Kelvin, whose laboratory was apparently always cold.
The Celsius scale is based on the freezing and boiling points of water. Water freezes at 0 degrees Celsius, and boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
Celsius 0 degre and kelvin -273 degre celsius
It is the Sl unit for temperatur
Degrees in Kelvin scale = Degrees in Celsius scale + 273,15.
275.15 Kelvin
You think probable to the Kelvin scale of temperature. The zero point of Kelvin scale is at -273,15 0C.
zero Kelvin.
183 celsius in Kelvin = 183 + 273.15= 456.15 Kelvin
The Kelvin temperature scale
William Thomson, also known as Lord Kelvin developed the kelvin scale.
Degrees in Kelvin scale = Degrees in Celsius scale + 273,15.
The Kelvin scale
275.15 Kelvin
The units on the Kelvin scale are simply called 'kelvin' because it is not relative to any reference point.
William Thomson, also known as Lord Kelvin developed the kelvin scale 1848.
You think probable to the Kelvin scale of temperature. The zero point of Kelvin scale is at -273,15 0C.
Any scale can be used; the absolute, rational, thermodynamic based scale is the Kelvin scale.
The units, in this case, are kelvin, degrees Fahrenheit, and degrees Celsius.
