The question can't be answered because there is no such thing as a number that's "closest" to any other number. The set of numbers is said to be infinitely dense.

If a number x is claimed to be the closest to 1.5 then the average of x and 1.5, for example, will be closer to 1.5. And then the average of that number and 1.5 will be closer still. And so on, and on.
