I think you're referring to the notation for a repeating decimal.

So it is 175.877777.... Well 0.777777.... is 7/9, and 0.87777 - 0.77777 = 0.1 = 1/10. so it is 175 + 7/9 + 1/10 which is 175 + 70/90 + 9/90 = 175 79/90
