Stand on the ground on the left side of the bike. Have your left hand on the handle-bar and your right hand under the rear rack. Push down on the center stand with your left foot while pulling up and back on the rack. It's more a knack than strength but it takes a little practice. Oh yeah, you may want to have someone help steady the bike until you get the hang of it.
