There is no particular formula, as the equations of the lines could vary. Most of the time though, setting the equations to the lines equal to each other, and then solving for a variable is a good way. For example:

y = 2x +3

y = 14x - 2

2x + 3 = 14x - 2

2x + 5 = 14x

5 = 12x

5/12 = x

Now we have our x-coordinate, and we just have to find our y-coordinate, by plugging the x-coordinate into one of the two equations:

y = 2(5/12) + 3

y = (5/6) + 3

y = 23/6

Thus, our point is at (5/12 , 23/6)
