The answer is 4 because 4 you can break it into 2 times 2 and 2 is prime so thats the prime #s of 4 and for 84 you can do 42 times 2 then for 42 2 times 21 and then three times 7 = 21 so your prime factors of 84 are 237and 2 and the prime numbers of 4 is 2 and 2 so is you line those #s up there is 2 2's in common sooo... 2 times 2 = 4 so the gcf of 4 and 84 is 4.
