the biggest remainder you can have when dividing by 2 is 1.
Reason is ......if you divide an even number by 2 you will always get a round answer. However if you divide an odd number by 2 you will always get a full number with 1 reamining...i.e divide 3 by 2.........2 remainder 1......................divide 19 by 2 this will give you 9 remainder 1.
Hope this helps

The greatest remainder when dividing by 3 is 2. When you divide any integer by 3, the possible remainders are 0, 1, or 2. For example, if you divide 7 by 3, the quotient is 2 and the remainder is 1, while dividing 8 by 3 gives a remainder of 2, which is the highest possible remainder for that divisor.

you wouldn't have a remainder higher than 2 as 3 would be able to be divided into itself.
5, or .8 with a three repeating.
The greatest possible remainder is 11.
