"Zero" comes from the Italian 'Zero', which most likely comes from the Latin, 'Zephirum', which probably comes from the Arabic, "Sifr" (Cipher), which most likely is a translation of the Sanskrit, "Sunya-m", or "Empty place . . . Desert, Nothingness".
