According to the CDC's website, each day more than 9 people are killed and more than 1,060 people are injured in crashes that are caused by distracted drivers.
Car accidents are caused by many things but the main cause of accidents are speeding drivers.Statistics show that 40% of the accidents worldwide are caused by speeding. The other reasons being distracted drivers (26%) and drunk drivers (34%)All sources are governmental prooven
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration blames distracted driving for 80% of all car accidents. It is the number one cause of car accidents in the United States. This can be caused by talking on a cell phone, texting, smoking, eating food, looking for something, or even just surfing the radio.
The latter question does not state that the total is out of 100, so in effect it could be 50 accidents out of a million were the result of alcohol. Also, the first question states that the person who caused the accident was a drunk driver, however the second does not make this point. As such an incident could be said to involve alcohol because a drunk person walked across the road and caused someone to swerve etc.
50%
No. However they can be used to mislead people or twisted to indicate things that seem good but aren't (this is called spindoctoring) in various ways. Examples include driving accident statistics - 45% of crashes are caused by drunk drivers, but that means 55% were caused by sober drivers - and crime statistics - 5000 murders were committed in one city but only 500 were committed in another; a person might assume the second city is safer, but if the first city had 100 times the population then it is actually only one-tenth, not ten times as dangerous as the second.
Drunk drivers, distracted drivers, and/or loss of control.

it will cause trafic because the drivers will watch it (If so, would you say the eclipse caused the traffic, or could it have been the distracted drivers who did ?)
99 % teenagers get in car crashes!! Don't let your kid go, seriously.... they think they're ready but there not!! Especially in DC scary!
The actual answer is 90%. Hitting a deer or having a tire blowout, etc is not driver error.
For a career I would say Cale Yarborough & Dale Earnhardt (caused the most wrecks(?) I'm in the present so I will address same, from 2002 thru 2006 the drivers with the most crashes were: Kurt Busch & Elliott Sadler. There is a trend in crashes, the drivers who are the most aggressive are the ones who are in or cause the most crashes, so watch for the most aggressive drivers and see who causes, and are in a lot of crashes. (Drivers to watch: Kyle Busch, J.P. Montoya).
50 percent
True. And this arises a bright idea: majority (60%) of the fatal traffic crashes is caused by sober drivers, drunken drivers cause less. Let's encourage the drivers to drink before driving, thus decrease the number of fatalities on the roads! Statistics is a science if one can interpret the figures...
A large percentage is because of eating or drinking while driving, and 25% of car accidents are caused due to talking on the mobile phone while at the wheel of the car. It is estimated that 2.25% of all vehicular crashes involve intoxicated drivers.
about 27 percent of teen crashes are related to drugs
