There are four suits, each with an equal number of cards.

It doesn't really matter what the first card is, we're just drawing it to get the name of the suit we're looking for on the second draw.

So, since there are 4 suits and the probability of each of them is equal, then the overall probability is 1/4 that they're the same suit (and 1/52 that they're the same CARD, since you put it back after the first draw).

What is the probability of drawing two aces from a deck of 52 cards?

The answer depends on how many cards are drawn, and whether they are drawn with or without replacement. If 1 card is drawn, the probability is 0, if 50 cards are drawn (without replacement), the probability is 1. If only two cards are drawn, at random and without replacement, the probability is (4/52)*(3/51) = 12/2652 = 0.0045

Two cards are drawn from a deck of cards. what is the probability that both cards are spades?

This question is a little bit tricky. In a deck of 52 cards, one-fourth or 13 cards are spades. So, the chance of drawing one spade = 13/52 or 0.25. If a second card drawn, there's one less spade in the deck, so the probability on the second draw is 12/51. The probability of drawing two spades from a deck is 0.25 x 12/51 = 0.058824 This is called sampling without replacement. In quality control, it is very common to sample without replacement as bad parts are discarded. If we consider drawing one card, putting it back in the deck, regardless if it is a spade or not, then reshuffling the deck and drawing the second card, the probability is 0.25 x 0.25 = 0.0625, a bit higher with replacement. This is the same as 1/4 x 1/4 = 1/8 or saying the odds are 1:8. I've included a couple of links on sampling with replacement and without replacement. Generally, for calculating statistics, we attempt to get independent results. The draw of one card, will reduce the population, and change the probabilities on the second draw, so sampling without replacement is not independent sampling. See related links.

In a standard deck of cards what is the probability of both of the cards being red if you choose 2 cards from the deck without replacement?

It is (26*25)/(52*51) = 650/2652 = 0.2451

What is the probability of drawing a diamond from a normal deck of cards?

If you draw 40 cards without replacement the probability is 1! If you draw just one, the probability is 1/4.

What is the probability of drawing a heart in a deck of cards?

The probability, if you draw 40 cards, without replacement, is 1. That is, it is a certainty. The probability on a single random draw is 1/4.

What is the probability of drawing three black cards one at a time with replacement from a standard deck of 52 cards?

The probability of drawing three black cards one at a time with replacement from a standard deck of 52 cards is 1/3x1/2x26/52, which is 0.833.

What is the probability of getting a black 4 out of a 52 deck of cards?

If you pick enough cards, without replacement, the probability is 1. The probability for a single random draw is 1/26.

If a box contains three blue cards and three white cards If two cards are drawn one at a time find the probability that both cards are blue if the draws are made with replacement?

The probability of drawing two blue cards froma box with 3 blue cards and 3 white cards, with replacement, is 1 in 4, or 0.25.The probability of drawing one blue card is 0.5, so the probability of drawing two is 0.5 squared, or 0.25.

Draw two cards from a deck of cards without replacement what is the probability that the first card is an ace and the second card is a king?

The probability that two cards drawn from a deck of cards being an Ace followed by a King is 1 in 13 (for the Ace) times 4 in 51 (for the King) which is equal to 4 in 663.

What is the probability of choosing king or jack?

If you select 45 cards without replacement from a regular deck of playing cards, the probability is 1. For a single randomly selected card, the probability is 2/13.

What are chosen at random from a standard deck of cards with replacement what is the probability of getting to aces?

"Playing cards" are chosen at random.
