Please understand that I do not intend to be mean to you, but it sounds like you are whining a bit. You want to study economics at the honours level, but you are complaining about math? It's a little like a person who wants to be a physician but who doesn't want to study physiology or biochemistry. You have to deal with math at some level, or you should consider another interest.
Typically, diploma programs do not meet the requirements of a degree. However, it does depend on where the diploma was taken, its design and the purpose for which it was designed.
