Not a lot. If you want to measure the volume of something I would suggest cubic centimetres, litres or cubic metres. Apart from not being a primitive measure, it is easy to move to the next level of units if the ones that you start off with are too large or too small.

A cubic centimetre (cc) or, equivalently, a millilitre is useful for small quantities - from less than a teaspoon to a small bottle.

A litre (= 1000 mL) is useful for intermediate sized objects like bottles to small paddling pools.

A cubic metre (= 1000 litres) is useful for larger objects such as Swimming Pools, rooms etc.
