Depends if you want the religious version or not. The historic version is that the bible is a compilation of books from Judaism, witha bit of Zoastrianism in there. It was then translated into the Latin Vulgate, then from there into the King James bible. It also picked up a lot of little bits from various religions around the world as Christianity expanded. At this point you probably wouldn't even recognize the original versions of the Vulgate.
