That is easy to determine by breaking it down.

C = Carbon, O = oxygen, and the 2 says that there are 2 of the element that comes before it.

So CO2 is 1 Carbon atom attached to 2 Oxygen atoms.

Molar mass of C = 12g

Molar mass of O2 = 2 * 16 = 32g

Molar mass of CO2 = 44 g

The ratio of the mass between oxygen atoms to carbon atoms is 32:12 = 8:3

O : C = 8 : 3

The sample is not completely thermally decomposed in the procedure will the mole ratio of CaO To CO2 be too high or too low. explain?

The mole ratio of the sample will be too high. This is because the amount of CO2 will be lower than if the reaction went all the way and produced the proper amount of CO2.

If by "air" you mean oxygen, then the mole ratio can by found by balancing a reaction equation. CH4 + 202 -> CO2 + 2H2O The ratio is 1:2.

Does CO2 and SO2 have the same empirical formula?

No, Compounds with the same empirical formula have the same elements in the same ratio. SO2 and CO2 contain different elements. SO2 is a compound of sulfur and oxygen while CO2 is a compound of carbon and oxygen.

Why isn't the chemical symbol for sodium chloride NaCl but not like Co2 with a 2 at the back?

Chemical formulas are the ratio of parts in a compound or molecule. NaCl does not have a subscript 2 because the ratio is 1:1, whereas carbon dioxide has a ratio of 1:2.

What is the percent CO2 in sodium bicarbonate?

Sodium Bicarbonate come from absorption of CO2 into NaOH Total reaction is 2NaOH + CO2 -> NaHCO3 + H2O Each mole of NaHCO3 come from absorption of 1 mole CO2 Molecular weight of NaHCO3 is 84 g/mol and CO2 is 44 g/mol It is that 84 g of NaHCO3 had 44 g of CO2 By weight ratio it is 52% CO2 in Sodium Bicarbonate.

If 100.0g C3H8 is burned completely how many grams CO2 would be produced if the only source of carbon is C3H8?

The reaction isC3H8 + 5O2 ----> 3CO2 + 4H2O100g of propane is approx 2.27 moles. From the equation above, we see that the ratio of C3H8 to CO2 is 1:3, therefore the number of moles of CO2 which form is approx 6.82.This relates to a mass of 300g of CO2
