It depends on what you mean by width. If you view the wheel as a disk and consider its width as the side-to-side measure, then they two are the same so the ratio is 1.

If you view the wheel head-on and consider its width as the profile, then there is no relation.

What is the formula of velocity ratio of a wheel and differential axle?

velocity ratio= 2D/(d1 - d2) , where D = diameter of effort wheel,d1&d2= diameter of the axles.

How do you determine wheel size?

Wheel size is composed of 2 dimensions, the wheel width and wheel diameter. For example, a 22×9.0 wheel has a diameter of 22" and a width of 9". You can also check the wheel size by looking at the vehicle owner's manual or by looking at your tire TIN number.

What does GR 78 - 15 means on the tire?

G - Load/Size R - Radial Design 78 - Hieght/width ratio 15 - Rim/Wheel Diameter in Inches

Will 255-75-15 tires fit on 8 inch wide wheels?

Width x Aspect Ratio = Section HeightSection Height x 2 = Combined Section HeightCombined Section Height + Wheel Diameter = Tire DiameterExample: 185/60R14 85H or 185/60HR14185mm x .60=111mm111mm x 2=222mm222mm + 355.6mm(14")= 577.6mm or 22.74"The first number is the width of the tire in millimeters, measured from sidewall to sidewall. To convert to inches, divide by 25.4 In the example above, the width is 185mm or 7.28".The second number is the aspect ratio. This is a ratio of sidewall height to width. In the example above, the tire is 7.28" wide, multiply that by the aspect ratio to find the height of one sidewall. In this case, 185x0.60=111mm or 7.28"x0.60=4.36".The last number is the diameter of the wheel in inches. To figure the outside diameter of a tire, take the sidewall height and multiply by 2,(remember that the diameter is made up of 2 sidewalls, the one above the wheel, and the one below the wheel) and add the diameter of the wheel to get your answer.255/25.4=10.03937 that's up to you now..

What does 265 40 zr18 mean?

265 = Width of tire in Millimetres 40 = Ratio of height to width (aspect ratio) Z = Speed rating for over 150Mph (240Kph) R = Radial - the construction of the tire 18 = Diameter in inches of the wheel the tire is designed to fit. In summary, this tire is for a sports car with 18 inch wheels.

How does the diameter of the wheel affect the speed of a car?

It changes the ratio between the engine rpm and the drive wheel(s) rpm.

What does the letter J mean in a wheel size 7.5J x 15?

The size of a wheel is determined by 4 different measurements, these are the Rim Width, Rim Diameter, PCD ( Pitch circle diameter ) and the offset.Rim Width, is the distance between then inner surfaces of the wheel, and is where the tyre is seated against the edge of the wheel.Rim Diameter, is the diameter of the inner surface of the wheel, and again is where the tyre is seated. These two measurement are the most commonly quote, eg 10x5 or 10J5, which means the wheel has a 10inch rim diameter and a 5 inch rim width, the "J" allegedly refers to the shape of the wheel rim in cross section(?), and hence the type of type required, J is normal !

What is the average size of a semi truck tire?

Usually, it'll be XXX/75R22.5 or XXX/80R22.5, with "XXX" being 275, 285, or 295. On a 22.5 inch wheel with a 75 aspect ratio, it'll have a diameter of 39.33 inches. With an 80 aspect ratio, it'll have a diameter of 40.45 inches. A 24.5 inch wheel and tire will have a diameter of 41.33 inches with a 75 aspect ratio and a diameter of 42.45 with an 80 aspect ratio.

What would the ratio of a two rectangles be if one rectangles width is 24Cm and length 30Cm the other rectangle is width of 36 Cm length of 42 Cm?

These are not similar rectangles so there is no obvious candidate for the ratio. Is it ratio of lengths (sides, perimeter, diameter), or ratio of area?

How do you know what size tire you need for a riding lawn mower?

Tire Width 185 mm Tire Aspect Ratio 65 Tire Construction Radial Tire Wheel Diameter 15 in.

What do the three sets of numbers on tire size?

Say you have a tire size 205/60HR16:205 is the section width of the tire in millimeters. Section width is the overall width from sidewall to sidewall. Tread width is typically 90% of the section width. In the above size, the section width is 205mm.The second number is the aspect ratio. This is the percentage ratio of the sidewall height to section width. In the above example, the sidewall height is 60% of the section width. The last number is the wheel diameter in inches. So in the above example, the wheel diameter is 16 inches. The R in the size designation means the tire is a radial tire, as almost all car tires are. The letter in front of the R (H in the above example) is the speed rating of the tire. The speed rating is the maximum speed the manufacturer recommends for the tire.
