How do you run both the shower and tub to the same two inch drain line in a slab foundation house?

Everything the same as when only setting up one, however the drain farthest away from where the two meed the drain line must be slightly higher (1/4 inch high per foot of distance to the other drain (or more)and you will have two vent pipes (one from each) that can be tied together and sent out through the roof. Also don't forget you need two traps (one for each right under the drains).

My house is filled with drain flies. Need step-by-step instruction to locate the breeding area?

Process of elimination. First get some household bleach and put it into a spray bottle. Take this and spray about 5 squirts in every sink in the house. Be sure to spray the overflow openings in the bathroom sinks. Do the same in the overflow openings in the tubs. Place a banana peel on an open space and get rid of the flyers with either a vacuum cleaner or use a soap mixture in a spray bottle to kill the ones in flight. Hope this helps! When my husband and I had drain flies in our apartment we tried pouring every chemical we could think of into the drains. Bleach, tub & tile cleaner, CLR....everything. When none of that helped we had to get our landlord and a plumber involved. The plumber explained to us that drain flies lay their eggs in the film surrounding the inside of the pipes and water/liquid will not destroy them until they hatch so often when you get rid of them for a few days or so they come right back. We had to get a crack in the pipe repaired and professionally cleaned before we finally got rid of the problem. Good luck!

How does a septic tank system handle heavy rain?

If your house plumbing is put together right rainwater won't go into the septic system. A properly designed septic system only takes "waste water". Story water is supposed to drain away from the house or into a "sump".

How do you use the bottom drain in an in ground pool?

Well, if you mean to drain the pool --- it is not a drain as in house plumbing -- the sink -- the tub. It is connected to the skimmer and that is connected to the pump. Your main drain is most likely 'working'. It does not nave to be a strong flow. Well, if you mean to drain the pool --- it is not a drain as in house plumbing -- the sink -- the tub. How many downspouts do you need on a house?

You should try to limit the number of downspouts. The number is really determined by the length of gutter run. If the length is over 25-30 feet you may need a downspout at each end. Otherwise you would not be able to get enough pitch or slope on the gutter for it to drain properly. Aslo look to place downspouts where the excess water can easily drain away the house and foundation.
