The area of a circle is defined by the equation A = πr^2

where π = pi (3.14...)

A = Area

r^2 = radius squared

So, the radius of a circle squared multiplied by pi equals the area.

Relationship between circle are and radius squa0red is

A(Area) = pi r^2(radius squared).

pi is the constant of proportionality for ALL circles . It has a value of 3.141592.....

However for elementary school work , pi = 3.14

NB Remember to other relationship with circles for circumference.

C = 2 pi r = pi d

Learn and commit to memory ;-

A = pi r^2 & C = 2 pi r

What is the relationship between the diameter and the radius of a cone?

As a cone will always have a base which is a circle, the relationship between the diameter and radius remains constant with that of a circle at any point of the shape. The radius is always 1/2 of the diameter. To figure out the volume of a cone you must first work out the radius, for the formula is: (1/3) x Pi x R^2 x h ^2 = Squared
