Some products are sold from the manufacturer to the consumer directly (Denby pottery for example) Other products are sole from manufacturer to wholesaler then to shop then consumer (Costco cake to a cafe) Some products are sold from manufacturer directly to shops then to the consumer- cutting out the wholesaler (e.g. milk from dairy to supermarket)
National Dairy Council has NOTHING to do with health, they are essentially a front for the dairy industry, in order to promote dairy and fool consumers.

There really isn't anything else that is more profitable from a dairy cow other than selling the milk you get from her. Unless you sell her for meat, but then you won't ever get her back again, and will have to get a new dairy cow to replace her.
