The thing to remember is that the product of (wavelength) times (frequency) is the speed

of the wave ... which is always the same constant number.

So when one of the two quantities increases, the other one must decrease, in order to keep

the product constant.

When you move to an E&M wave with a longer wavelength, you're looking at one with a

higher frequency.
