The Messerschmitt 153 Komet was a small rocket powered fighter plane built by Germany during World War II in relatively small numbers and used towards the end of the war. They had a superior performance to Allied fighters, but but had very limited endurance, so could not fly for long periods. The tactic that was adopted was to interceptor Allied bombers on the way up flying from underneath and then again on the return, before disengaging and attempting return the the airfield.

During some of those transactions, German blueprints were transferred to the Japanese, in which they built some prototypes of the Me163 Komet and the Me262 twin engined jet. In return, the Germans may have received plutonium and uranium from the Japanese submarines.
