I found that thin oils work best. WD-40, 3-in-1, etc... I used a combination of cleaning with lighter fluid (ask mom and dad) then soaking in WD-40 overnight had my wheels spinning more freely. I made up my own combo that's had the same GMN bearings spinning fast for over 18years.

Don't use WD 40. It attracts dust and dirt, which are bad for the bearings.

Any lubricant will attrace dust and dirt. WD-40 is ideal for cleanning purposes. It will loosen dirt and debris prior to lube. Understand that a base component of WD-40 is fish oil, so it will break down if used alone..

Some say Bones Swiss competition (the ones that are the most expensive) but there are ones that are anywhere from 80$ to 300$ that are only available to pros, the highest ive ever heard of are abec-18 made by Black Panther. Also Bones Reds 20-30$ (30$ for the highest abec) are a good price and as fast as the cheapest Bones Swiss 30$ bearings. << too bad black panthers stopped at abec-7. which also means nothing on how fast they will go.

>>8/17/12-Voodoo 13: Don't confuse ABEC #'s with the quality or speed of bearings.. Everyone thinks that if they roll on ABEC 11's they're the fastest thing on a deck. Truth is ABEC ratings are really only used for industrial grading purposes..They are grades in describing tolerance to heat and friction before they fail. I can guarantee that you'll get no noticable performance from an ABEC 5 to and ABEC 11 bearing. If you are 350lbs dropping from 6 feet at 25 miles per hour ..'maybe'..but Im being serious here.. Please realize that with all of those companies out there competing for your cash..they'll make the most expensive sound like the best..I've had a set of 1986 GMN-German bearings outlive 4 decks and still going strong..They aren't even ABEC rated! I have used ABEC 3, 5, ,7, 11 & ceramic.. with no real noticable difference. Unless you're about to go pro and are sponsored-save your money .. instead of getting swiss or ceramics go use the money you saved for better wheels or trucks..
