Answer

The density of Lead is 11.35kg per cubic metre this means that 100cm X 100cm x 100cm = 1 cubic metre so 1000000 cubic cm makes 1 cubic metre 1 cm cubed of lead = 11.35/1000000 =0.00001135 kg 0.01135 grams of lead in 1 cm cubed

EDIT: The density of lead is 11,340kg per cubic metre - not 11.35kgs - Water has a density of 1,000 kgs per cubic metre, lead does not float on water, but it would if a cubic metre of it only had a mass of 11.35kgs!

Otherwise the formula used for the calculation above is correct.

1cm3 of lead has a mass of 11.340g

Which of these is homogenous lead fishing sinker sedimentary rock trail mix or iced tea with lemon?

lead fishing sinker

Which of these is homogenous a lead fishing sinker trail mix an iced tea with lemon or a sedimentary rock?

The lead fishing sinker is homogeneous because has a uniform appearance throughout. Trail mix, iced tea with lemon, and sedimentary rocks are heterogeneous because they are not uniform throughout -- you can see the individual components of the mixtures.

Why a pillow is more or less dense then a lead sinker?

A pillow is less dense than a lead sinker. Density is defined by mass per unit volume. So, if you have the same mass (weight) of a pillow, and a lead sinker, which will take up more space (volume)? The answer is the pillow. Thus, it is LESS dense.

What do you mean by cotton sinker?

There may be other explanations - but I know it as a fishing term for a piece of equipment. Instead of using a lead weight at the end of your fishing line, create a small pouch, out of cotton for example, pack it full of sand, fine sand is better as it will absorbe more water and become heavier, and use it on the end of your line as a Sinker. The reason being, if lost there is no lead content to contaminate to ocean and after a while the cotton degrades and the sand returns to the ocean floor

What is a tungsten fishing sinker?

Tungsten is an ideal substitute of the lead fishing sinker. It's strong adhesive, semi-solid state, soft for a long term. Tungsten Heavy Alloys concentrate maximum weight in the smallest possible space. They are more often to be used as counterweight in sporting field, such as fishing sinkers, golf weights, etc. Tungsten weights are an ideal, environmentally friendly alternative to lead weights, which are toxic and increasingly being labeled an environmental hazard. They are harder than steel and extremely dense, tungsten being on average 30 percent smaller than its lead counterpart. Meanwhile, they are smaller than conventional weights, create twice the sound of lead weights and maintain their shape for longer. Tungsten is also used in the production of other fishing applications, such as tungsten-carbide line cutters and tungsten powder coating for fishing lines.

What does hook line and sinker mean?

If you have a fishing pole, you need a line attached to the pole in order to fish. You need a hook on the end of the line. To put the hook and the line under water, you need a sinker. So, to have everything you need to fish, you need a hook, line, and sinker. The idiom means you need it to be complete.

How do you put a removable split shot sinker on a fishing pole?

Technicallyyou add it to the line and not the pole. Removable split shot is usually round like a lead bearing but open so that you can place it on your fishing line and pinch it shut to hold it in place. Care should be taken not to pinch the line as this may cause the line to break.

Why is lead Pb used for fishing sinkers?

It's heavy and cheap. It's also soft enough that you can pinch it around the line easily. When I was a kid, you got split-shot sinkers and attached them to the line by putting the sinker in the split then biting it--yes, with your teeth. We were all a little dumber then.

The heat capacity of a .287g lead sinker used by fishermen?

0.0367 Heat capacity depends on the material that it's made out of. If the sinker is made out of cast iron, it'd be around 0.46 kJ/kg K. Google "specific heat of metals" for lists.

What are fishing weightsmade out of?

lead

If you had a lead sample that was double the mass of the sinker you used in the investigation what would be the heat capacity of the heavier sample?

It would be the same. The Cp of the lead never changes, no matter the mass.

What is the dense metal in fishing sinkers?

Tungsten is the dense metal in fishing sinkers. Lead alloys are common, but lead is toxic.
