What percentage of fifth graders are afraid of going into sixth grade?

I would say 100%. I was very scared to go the 7th grade. I thought the older girls would hassle me and that the boys would possibly either ignore me or hassle me too. I was only somewhat pretty and endowed for my age, but I was poor and had bad clothes. That was what most of the older kids ridiculed me for. The older kids in middle school are a**holes. Don't let them get to you. Take it like you don't care. I don't mean to scare you, but you want the truth. The truth is most kids have some fear of going to a school where they are once again the young fish in the pond. Don't let yourself get eaten. Overall it wont be that bad, and you will have a lot of positive experiences. Also beware of some guys that will try to sexually harass you, as in "accidentally" bumping into you or brushing up against you.

Don't get me wrong. It is not all that bad because you will also make some great friends. That will be something that will help you get along. The more people you know and become friends with, assuming they are good people, the better off you will be. Just don't get in with the wrong crowd, especially drug users and snobs and bullies.

16 - 18% would be a little afraid, but the rest are all like, dude, its just another grade, another teacher, we've done it six or more times before now... get over it

Its year 6's moving onto 7 that are scared, a completely new school, completely new teachers, and even worse, completely new schedule,

Moving onto high school, having to move from class room to class room all the time.
