Is the decision truthful? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

where is the fourway flasher located ib a 2001 oldsmobile alero
read the manual
We found the answer to the above question Thank you
I had the same thing happen after flattening my battery. In my case the car would start for a moment and then die. This was the imobiliser kicking in. Put the key in the door, lock and unlock the car and your fourways should cancel.

You have a bad: *Turn Signal Switch *Bad Fourway Flasher Brake lights for the left and right are wired through the turn signals, if your switch is bad (Open) on the turn signals in rest position, the brake lights will not work. The same is true for the emergency flashers. Diagnosing which one it is, as well as replacement, is very advanced for the average person. I suggest taking it to a reputable electrical shop. There is a recall on this problem. Contact your dealer. If not, get a new hazard switch and replace the old one on the steering column ($21.00 and about 5 minutes work). We used a matchstick slid in next to the hazard switch for a quick fix - have someone stand outside and tell you when the brakelights come on while you wedge stick in.

it is on the left hand side of the steering wheel on the same stick as the windshield whipers. by: kristin stark of orange, tx This is a strange spot to put the flasher unit for the turn signals...Open the glove box..look at the fuse panel on the left... It's in that dark hole to the upper left of the fuse panel. I had to take out the screws holding the fuse panel and move it down and out of the way. Then you get to find someone with a smaller hand/arm to feel up into this access hole. It's very tough to see. There are both the four way flasher and the signal flasher located there. Turn on the signal flasher and feel which one is ticking. (you can feel it) If the signal flasher is not working, turn on the fourway flasher and feel it so you don't take out the wrong one. Pay attention to the orientation of the terminal prongs so you will be better prepaired for the replacement of the new unit. Good luck...
Start by finding the fuse for the 4-way flasher. Behind the fuse box, locate the wire going into the fuse connectors. Follow the wire harness into the engine compartment and look for anything newly installed into the wire harness that directly relates to the color wire for the 4-way flasher. (particularly any cut or frayed wires). If no wire is found frayed, fused or otherwise grounding, check the light sockets for each of the signal lights, pay mind to the bulbs that are installed (single contact or double contact). A single contact bulb in a double contact socket would cause such a malfunction. Is the correct size fuse installed? Have you done any electrical work on the car? When did the problem start? If you can eliminate the human factor from being the cause, I would remove all bulbs from the signal and light sockets (the little replacement bulbs. I would start at any corner and install 1 light bulb and then see if it works (try turn signal). if it works w/out blowing the fuse, move on to the next bulb. Continue only 1 light at a time and test. When fuse blows I would say that light is the problem. If any questions e-mail me at dhunter@docusource.com. Good luck hope I helped
Check fuseRun a new fused hot line to the cold side of the brake switch read this and you will understand the power for the brake lights goes through you signal light switch first (example when you have the left signal light on ,and your pushing the brake pedal the right side is a brake light and the left side is the signal light )so either you signal light switch is bad or there is a reley for the brakes in the model car you have i dont believe so though somtimes when the switch goes bad you get a burnt plastic or wire smell you dont get the smell all the time you may not smell it at all .try to turn your singnal light left and right a few times if that dont work try to push you fourway button a couple times this may get it working again for a while but it wont fix it there is metel contacts in there and there not contacting properly
