use your ruler to measure the sides
To find the perimeter of a room, measure the length and width of the room in feet. Use the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle, which is P = 2(length + width). For irregularly shaped rooms, measure each side and add all the lengths together to get the total perimeter.
A ruler should be used to measure it. Once you have the perimeter, it would probably be most convenient to express it in terms of either inches or centimeters.
