Can you feed a 208v 200amp panel from 480v 20amp circuit?

Not directly, you would need to transform 480v circuit to 120v with a transformer first.

Are 120V and 208V the same?

no 208v is bigger

Can you run a 110v heater on 220v circuit?

No.It'll overload and fail just about immediately. It's possible - but not recommended - to run two 110 v heaters in series from a 220v circuit.

What rating is called for in a non fussed disconnect switch between a Automatic Transfer Switch with a 400amp breaker 120 208v system and a generator that outputs 120 208v 3ph capacity 100KW 125KVA?

400 amps

What is the difference in amps used by lighting wired 277v vs 208v?

Answer for USA, Canada and countries running a 60 Hz supply service.Assuming you are using the same fixture, and assuming the fixture can operate on either voltage, you will get fewer amps with 208v than with 277v. However, a fixture designed for 208v will probably burn up on 277v, and a fixture designed for 277v will probably not produce any light on 208v.The two fixtures in reality are quite different. The 277v fixture is using one leg and neutral of a 277/480v 3 phase 4 wire system and the 208v fixture is using 2 legs of a 120/208v 3 phase 4 wire system. In commercial and industrial installations the 277v fixture is most common. As always, if you are in doubt about what to do, the best advice anyone should give you is to call a licensed electrician to advise what work is needed. Before you do any work yourself,on electrical circuits, equipment or appliances, always use a test meter to ensure the circuit is, in fact, de-energized.IF YOU ARE NOT ALREADY SURE YOU CAN DO THIS JOBSAFELY AND COMPETENTLYREFER THIS WORK TO QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS.

Is there a way to rewire a 5hp 3phase motor to run off of 240v without buying additional equipment?

No, you only have phase a and b. The motor will run as smoothly as a 3 phase motor that has lost a leg of power. That is if the motor is designed for 208v in the first place. Not a good idea.

How do you wire up a 208v single phase motor with micro switch?

if you are using the pressure switch to control a 3phase pump chances are it already has a magnetic starter and a single pole control circuit i have seen small 3phase air compressors with the contacts driven right off the diaphragm bigger ones usually have 110 volt controls i would be concerned about the current rating of the switch if you are trying to switch the motor directly there are many single phase compressors that run directly from the pressure switch

How do you measure amps on a 208V single phase circuit with a clamp on amp meter?

Clamp the meter around the energized conductor that is connected to the load to be measured and read the amperage off of the dial face of the meter.

How do we know when to connect to 208v or 240v?

Its on the specifications of the device you will plug

7200

Can a 250V machine run on 208V?

Well. Yes actually 208 is probably 220. Etc

How do you wire a 208V motor with a 120V light bulb in the same circuit?

First off, I'm going to have to quore Robert here: (LIFE SAFETY WARNING! [disclaimer] Electricity is dangerous! You can be injured or killed! Improper installations can cause fire, injury and death! Should you be doing this yourself?) This is one of those questions - if you know this little, you shouldn't be doing what you are planning... No disrespect intended, but this is SO basic that it suggests you have not studied the subject at all! There are many good reference books and course books to study from. Unless you have 208V 3 phase power, you cannot make this work. You cannot power a 208V motor off a 120V supply. Since it is 208V, it is likely that it is a 3 phase motor. That means it has 3 hots. Check the specification plate on the motor, it should say how to wire it. With 208V 3 phase you should be able to get 120 from 1 hot phase to neutral. This means you need 5 feed wires (3 hots, a neutral, and ground) from your panel to your little light/motor contraption. Please buy a book and read up on this. It sounds like you don't know much about your system and ignorance is fatal (and not necessairly fatal to you) with electricity.
