Inches or centimeters, depending on where you live.
Typically, you measure a desk height with feet and a desk width with feet also. But, it depends on the size.
meters
You need to know the length and width of the desk before you can determine the area. Multiply the length by the width to get your answer (length x width = area).
It would be feet
Who knows, The Width is is 62.3 cm but they measured the length
You would likely use a ruler or a measuring tape.

I would use a ruler or a tape measure. After I was done, I would express the measurement in centimeters or inches.
mm(small desks),cm(student desks),dm(student/large),m(large),km(if a desk streches a few kilometers).
In SI units, use centimeters or meters. In non-SI units, use inches or feet.
Almost anything can be used as a measurement unit. For example, I have measured the dimensions of a room in terms of my own feet, or the width of my desk in terms of the span of my hand. That is fine if it is a measurement for my own use but in dealing with other people I would need to use standard measures. At present, the International System of Units (the SI System) is the best option we have.
feet
I would use a tape measure.

Use meter sticks to measure the length, width, and height of a lab table or desk in the classroom.
I prefer to use millimetres or if the measurement is over 1 metre I would say 1.25 or 12 hundred and 50. So a desk might be 900x500 x750 high
90 cm
