John Forbes Nash Jr was a brilliant mathematician afflicted with schizophrenia.

He is known mostly for his work on game theory, particularly dealing with co-operative and competitive game theory generalized to multiple players and non-zero sums. His vast generalization of Von Neumann's work on 2 person zero sum games, led to huge developments in economics, sociology, and microbiology, to name a few fields. Eventually, he was award the Nobel Prize for this work.

He was also the subject of the biography turned movie, "A Beautiful Mind", where he was depicted by Russell Crowe.
