There are two aspects to a romantic relationship: (a) Care for each other (b) physical need In sofar as (a) is concerned, in a relationship between two Ns, both of them are looking for all the care (Narcissistic supply as it is called) they can get from the other for the least care they can provide to the other. This causes an impasse. Going on to (b) if the quality of the physical relationship is poor, chances are that the relation would fall apart quite soon. On the other hand if the quality of sex is exceedingly good (as perceived by the two), the relation may continue, thriving on the basis of physical fulfillment, while at an emotional level it is long dead
