There need not be anything misleading about it. If the number of trials are stated clearly there is nothing misleading about it. The results will not be as reliable as they would have been with a larger number of trials but that will always be the case.

When conducting a experiment does the number of trials affect the results?

The number of trials does not affect the result as each individual trial or experiment yields its own result caused by random small variations in the techniques used. What is affected is the conclusion derived from pooling all the individual results for the same type of trial and analysing the value obtained by statistical methods. It is generally reckoned that at least seven trials are required for the purpose of statistics and the analysis is commonly expressed as the Mean (average value) and Standard Deviation, (a number that reflects the extent of the variation between the individual trials). However, different statistical methods are used for analysing different types of data, the commonest reflecting the difference between parametric (the variation is the same on both sides of the mean) and non-parametric (The spread of variation is greater on one side of the mean than the other). Obviously a considerable number of individual trials is required to be able to make a valid distinction between the two.

Where can you find double-blind research that proves Homeopathy works if there is any?

There are between 100 and 200 double-blind placebo controlled clinical trials testing homeopathic medicine, most of which show that homeopathic medicines are more effective than a placebo. There are an even greater number of basic science trials. For a list of a small number of high quality trials, go to: http://www.homeopathic.com/articles/view,132

What experiment convinced Ernest Rutherford thet atom has a small positively charged nucleus?

The gold foil experiment convinced Ernest Rutherford that the atom has a small positively charged nucleus. In this experiment, alpha particles were shot at a thin gold foil. The fact that some of the alpha particles were deflected and even bounced back led Rutherford to conclude that atoms have a small, dense, positively charged nucleus.
