Yes - the idea is - if you buy 5 of an item, you get them all at a discounted price. It's a common marketing strategy to get you to buy more, by making you think you're paying less. In actual fact, if you only buy 3 - and pay the full price for each - you'll be spending less money !
Take the following as an example. A packet of biscuits costs 1.15 each. If you buy five, you get them for 0.95 each butyou'll be spending 4.75 for all five packets. If you'd only bought three at the full price - you'd have paid 3.45!
