The x-axis should display the independent variable (i.e. the one that is controlled by the person carrying the experiment) while the y-axis should display the dependent variable (i.e. the one that varies because of the changing independent variables).

[The y-axis is vertical (up and down); the x-axis is horizontal (side-to-side)]

Explain how to determine the size of increments on x-axis and y-axis of a graph?

X-axis shows increment when is goes up and y-axis show an increment when it goes further to the right side of the graph

How do you fined the x and y intercepts and use them to graph each line?

Do you mean the axis? The y axis goes up and down while the x axis goes left and right.

Where is x axis and y axis on a graph?

The y axis is going up on the graph and the x axis is going sideways on the graph

What is the graph line that runs up and down?

What is the general name of the type of graph where the x-axis has evenly spaced years and the y-axis goes up by multiples of 10?

It is a semi-log plot. A plot with a logarithmic scale (goes up by multiples of 10) on each axis is a log-log plot.

How is the dependent and independent variable displayed on a graph?

dependent is X and independent is Y so the axis (line) that goes horizontal (right to left) is X and has the dependent variable. the axis that goes vertically (up and down) is the Y axis and has the independent variable/

How do you define the axis of a graph?

Y goes up and down, X goes left and right. I remember it by y is taller than x when lower case.

A vertical or horizontal line used in graphs is called a?

Vertical and horizontal lines in most graphs are called axes (plural of axis). They create the plane on which the graph sits. The X axis is the horizontal axis and goes across the graph. The Y axis is vertical axis and goes up and down the graph. They could also be lines which depict places that the graph never touches; this would be called an asymptote.

What are the axis of a bar graph called?

Y axis going up; and X axis going across.

What do a x and y axis make up?
