It is impossible for a flat map to be as accurate as a globe. The Earth is round and only a round globe can put things in the correct perspective.
I would think the globe would be more accurate since the world isn't actually flat. If you peel off the surface of the earth and flatten it out, you will have a lot of distortion if you try to fill in the spaces created by flattening it out. Maps are fine for smaller, localized areas.
No they believed it was a bowl shape. they thought the water would fall out.
Generally speaking, and if you are talking about representing the whole of earth's surface in one mapping, it would be a globe. But for many purposes a globe would have to be impractically large in order to match the precision of various other maps made for specialized purposes and covering smaller areas.
A globe is the world as it appears from space, and is approximately ball shaped. This allows the countries of the whole world to be shown on a globe without distortion. On a flat map, distortion is unavoidable, especially if the scale is small and showing a large area. Peel an orange, and try to flatten on a flat surface, will prove that a map of the World can not avoid distortion.
It is impossible to represent a curved object (our world) on a flat surface (a map) without distorting something. Different projections distort different things. The good thing about a globe is that nothing is distorted. As a result, they are a way better display of our earth.
A flat representation of the Earth is called a map projection. The surface of the Earth cannot be accurately represented on a flat surface, so there are various way to approximate it. The different way are called projections.
Globe
a globe
Globe
no, because a world map could be a flat map and a globe cannot be a flat map.
show them a globe, or a picture from space
well, the earth is flat.. i guesssss.. on a map.but on a globe, its like a round ball , or sphere and it doesnt look flat

use your brain!! if its a small one then yes it would be useful but if it was a big one it would be hard to carry around.
