Slide the Top Lever to the right to open the chamber. Turn the shotgun upside down. Look at the end of the barrel between the receiver and barrel. Get a flashlight and you'll see a series of numbers stamped in the bottom of the barrel.

Where is the serial number on an Ithaca M49 located?

For whatever help this is on 20 Aug 05, I am holding an Ithaca M49 which shows that the serial number is 9 digits long and stamped into the left front side, parallel to the barrel, and forward of the trigger in the action case. I hope this helps, Brad This is 28 Aug 05, my Ithaca M-49 has a 6 digit serial number, and is also stamped on the left front side, parallel to the barrel, and forward of the trigger. Dan The earliest (around 1962) models of the M49 Saddlegun didn't have serial numbers. The serial numbers were added to the lower left of the receiver in the later 1960s as required by the gun act of 1968. I don't recall the exact dates.

A 40 kilogram barrel is rolled up a 10 meter long ramp to a height of 5 meters a How much does the barrel weigh?

If the mass of the barrel is 40 kilograms and the barrel is presently on earth, then it weighs 392 newtons (88.2 pounds). What you do with it, what dizzying gyrations you subject it to, or what other objects happen to be nearby, have no effect on its weight.

Can pits be taken out of the inside of muzzleloader or new barrel with same serial no be bought?

In answer to part two of your question, you usually cannot get a new barrel with the same serial number, however; the part of the firearm that must have a serial number is the frame of the firearm. In other words, a replacement barrel with a different serial number is kosher. Many firearms manufacturers will replace the barrel with a new one that has the old serial number along with additional numbers/symbols/letters to indicate it is a replacement as long as you send it to the manufacturer for repair. In answer to the first part, maybe. Without knowing how bad the pits are, and any other possible problems you might not see, it is not possible to give a definitive answer on you case. Consult a gunsmith. There are very few firearms that are serial numbered on the barrel to match the frame/receiver. There is no requirement to have a number on the barrel.

What were the serial numbers on Davenport shotguns?

WHAT were they, or WHERE were they? There probably are none as they were manufactured long before serialization was required by law. Well, allow me to help you on the question as to where the serial number can be found on a W. H. Davenport shotgun. Remove the barrel. The shotgun I have has a flip open tab on the right side that is attached to a screw. Unscrew that and remove the barrel. On the underside of the barrel, at the breech, you'll find the serial number. Also, I noticed, behind the after end of the trigger guard are two numbers. Those two numbers match the last two numbers of the serial number. I'm not sure of their purpose. If this was helpful drop me a line at z.poet$pam@verizon.net (Of course, remove the $pam from the address.) Cheers, George Note: matching no's will be found on the lock, stock & barrel. The four didgits are found inside the frt stock that cradles the barrel, under the barrel where the lock will conceal when assembled. Also inside the top of the rear stock where the lock is attached, and under the lock behind the trigger guard as mentioned. And contrary to George, all numbers match on my "Davenport". signed the stunner.

What year was the Remington 22 long short rifle serial 31951 made?

No way to tell- serial numbers are not unique to only one firearm. Need model- and for remington, they are better dated using the 2 or 3 LETTER code stamped on left rear of the barrel.
