Nell Brinkley was a cartoonist in the early 1900s (ca. 1910-1930) who developed a particularly characteristic style of drawing charming young ladies, with curly hair, big eyes with long lashes, and iny, bow-shaped lips. Just as Charles Dana Gibson became associated with the "Gibson Girl," the "Brinkley Girl" is not (as far as I know) an actual character, but instead a generic term that describes the style. Imitations of the "Nell Brinkley girl" appeared in the Ziegfeld Follies for a couple of years. Do an internet search for Nell Brinkley and you should come up with a bunch of drawings.
