"Arab" is defined nowadays as those who use Arabic as the main language and thus may not refer to people of genuine Arab ancestry and ethnicity. Turks, Armenians, Iranians, Kurds and others do not fit into either lignuistic or ethnic ties with Arabs. A number of Semitic groups in the Middle East were absorbed into the Arab ethnos, including Aramaic, Nabatean and Amorite people from Iraq, Jordan and Syria. Even Saudi Arabia however has a number of non-Arab people who now speak Arabic, and are descended from very ancient populations originally derived from Africa or even India. Going by numbers alone, Iraq perhaps has the largest Arab population, though a large segment of the population is made of Iranian Kurds, Lors as well as some Persians.
