The largest bank in India is State Bank of India. State Bank of India is a government bank. The Government of India owns the bank and controls the functioning of the bank. All employees of SBI are considered government employees and they are directly answerable to the government of India.

Bank of America Corporation is one of the largest of the 4 banks in the United States. They have clients in 150 countries. They currently have 284,000 employees working for Bank of America offices.
As of 2023, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) has approximately 460,000 employees. This makes it one of the largest banks in the world, both in terms of assets and workforce. The bank's extensive employee base supports its vast network of branches and services globally.
I would assume, the answer for this is State Bank of India. SBI and its affiliate branches have the most number of branches in India and also, most probably the world. They have more than 17,000 branches across the country. Even if we assume they have only 10 people per branch working for them the total employee count would be 1.7 lakhs. Large branches, esp in cities have up to 50 staff. So, easily SBI could be the largest bank in terms of number of employees.
Bank of America is one of the 4 largest banks in USA. They have clients in over 150 countries. They have 284,000 employees working for them in their offices. Apart from this, they also have numerous contractors and vendors from other companies working for them which will increase this number beyond 300,000 in all.
