Whenever you have the electric available to do so, always choose the higher voltage. Reason being if you look at the spec plate on the motor you will see that the amp draw is significantly less when wired for 220.
In some cases depending on the horsepower and the brand the difference can be as much as half. Lower amp draw equates to a cheaper operating cost.
One is no more cost effective that the other. You pay for the amount of wattage that you consume. Wattage is the product of amps x volts. If your pool pump is dual voltage then you will see on the nameplate that the current is twice as much at 110 volts as it is at 220. The consumption of the motor will always be the same wattage no mater which voltage you use. Lets say that the pump is 1 HP. The current at 110 volts is 16 amps. 16 x 110 = 1760 watts. The same HP at 220 volts is 8 amps. 8 x 220 = 1760. As you see the wattage remains constant. Where money can be saved is at higher ampacity loads. The higher the voltage the lower the current means that smaller wire can be used at higher voltages. With copper prices these days it is cost effective to not use the bigger size wire when a smaller size will do.
The cost effectiveness of the heating system depends on the initial cost of the system and the operating costs. These will vary depending on the local utility rates and financing options. The most cost effective based on initial investment is a gas heater. These are less expensive up front. The most cost effective on the operating side is a heat pump. These units are more expensive upfront but cost up to 70% less to run. Over the long term, the heat pump is by far more cost effective but it will cost you more upfront. If you can find a financing option for the heat pump it is your best bet.
a car costs more
Voltage does not affect the cost to run. You pay for the wattage, the higher the wattage the more it will cost to run.
yes, if enough is used but it will also kill any other animal that drinks the water.
I think you mean volts given the numbers you specify. To determine which costs more to run you need to multiply Volts x Amps. The circuit with the higher value will cost more to operate.
Natural gas is generally more cost effective since it cooks quicker and costs less.
Laminate flooring is the more cost effective compared to laminate flooring.
"The most cost effective garage is determined by the structure and design of the house. There are instances in which, yes, sectional garages are more cost effective."
Try the Skylite shade brands they are considered to be very cost effective for this type of situation.
More cost effective to buy a new one.
Propane can be slightly more cost efective to opperate.
It depends on how far the item must be shipped, compared to the cost of gas to drive to a retailer. Obviously, having an item shipped to CA from NY would be more cost effective. However, shipping an item from a store three miles away would likely not be cost effective.
