y=2x-3 defines a line, a set of points all in a line. You could have x=0 y=-3, or x=1 y=-1, or x=100 y=197 and they all lie on the same line with a slope of 2 when put on to graph paper.
A set of points on a straight line are called 'collinear points'.
An infinite set of points can be a microscopically small line segment. An infinite number of points does not mean an infinitely long line.
