Colorado has the most mountains in the lower USA. Alaska is first but not a lot of people live there. Colorado has more mountains than it does flat. Whatever is flat is more hilly. Colorado Springs, Denver, and other cities are based along the Front range. The are elevated at 5,000 feet or more. All sit at the base of the Rocky Mountains. I hope that helped! Incorrect. It is Nevada

Alaska, is this for a weekly challange?Incorrect. The answer is Colorado. In fact, Colorado has more 14ers than the other 49 states (including Alaska), Canada and Mexico all added together. Colorado has either 53 or 54 depending on which list you use. Alaska has about 20, again depending on which list you use. Although Alaska has a few VERY tall mountains (most notably, Mount McKinley), many areas of the state are barely above sea level. Colorado, on the other hand, is the only state that is entirely above 1,000 meters in elevation and has more total land area above 10,000 feet than the other 49 states combined. Just Google "mountains 14,000" and you will find many, many web sites that verify Colorado has the most. Here is one http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/14ers By the way, the word is "challenge" not "challange".
