Who and when zero is invented?

In history, numbers are a very old. Numbers originated from Roman numerals but sources also say they were used as long back as the 6000 B.C, but not the Number 0. So this number '0' has different sources as to when and who had invented it. Some say 0 was used first in India in the 9th century A.D by a mathematician named Aryabhata. There are also sources that 0 was used by a civilization known as Maya who used for calendar purposes. Also then was the empire of Babylon who claim to have used in 300 B.C. There is also a view stating that Arabs used 0 since zero was used in the Arabic Language text.
Zero seems to have developed twice, in unconnected places and at possiboy different times. The Mayans used it in their dating system and the earliest known usage has been dated to 36 BC.

'Our' zero comes to us from India. We do not know who the person was who devised the concept, but Brahmagupta wrote a book which included rules for its use.

The ancient Greeks were aware of the concept of 'nothing', but did not have a formal way fo representing it in calculations.

The 'clever bit' about how we use 0 is in the positional-value we assign to it and to the other numbers. When the Indian zero was first used in unknown but the earliest dated reference we have for it is 458 AD.
